No amount of smarmy word salad will change the fact that Fauci lied before Congress

Q: "Are you alleging that (Fauci) lied under oath?"

PAUL: “Absolutely. Because when you take two viruses and you make it stronger that’s gain of function. If you take two viruses and you try to infect human cells, and you find it’s more infectious or more lethal, that’s gain of function by anybody’s common sense understanding of it.

So what he’s trying to do is redefine it. He’s using sort of smarmy word salad to try to get around the fact that it happened.

But it’s not just responsibility for the last pandemic it’s trying to prevent the next.

If we don’t understand how dangerous this research is, this could happen again.”

Fauci and NIH continue to lie about 'gain of function' research

From my Fox News op-ed today, “One way of denying that the NIH funded gain-of-function research in Wuhan is to scrub the NIH website of its ‘gain-of-function’ definition.

On October 20th, the NIH admitted in a letter to two Members of Congress that research supported by the NIH in Wuhan did create viruses that gained function or gained in lethality.

On the same day, the NIH removed its previous definition of gain-of-function research from its website and replaced it with another term: "enhanced potential pandemic pathogen" research…

Under Dr. Fauci’s convoluted definition, no experiment, no matter how deadly the combination, would be considered ‘gain-of-function’ unless the scientists knew in advance that the combination would lead to enhanced lethality.

Under Dr. Fauci’s word salad guidance no experiment combining viruses would ever be denied funding.

The NIH’s old and newly altered website admits that the NIH funds ‘gain-of-function’ research but that it needs to be 'conducted in very high biosecurity laboratories.'  But we can’t even get to the question of whether the Wuhan lab was secure because Dr. Fauci won’t admit that ‘gain-of-function’ research even occurred.”

No mandate: evidence shows natural immunity equal or more robust than vaccines

From the Brownstone Institute: “Public health officials and the medical establishment with the help of the politicized media are misleading the public with assertions that the COVID-19 shots provide greater protection than natural immunity.  CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, for example, was deceptive in her October 2020 published LANCET statement that ‘there is no evidence for lasting protective immunity to SARS-CoV-2 following natural infection’ and that ‘the consequence of waning immunity would present a risk to vulnerable populations for the indefinite future.’

Immunology and virology 101 have taught us over a century that natural immunity confers protection against a respiratory virus’s outer coat proteins, and not just one, e.g. the SARS-CoV-2 spike glycoprotein. There is even strong evidence for the persistence of antibodies. Even the CDC recognizes natural immunity for chicken-pox and measles, mumps, and rubella, but not for COVID-19.”

Harvard and Stanford doctors: 'Fauci fooled America'

Martin Kulldorff, Ph.D. and Jay Bhattacharya, MD, Ph.D. write at Newsweek, 'When the pandemic hit, America needed someone to turn to for advice. The media and public naturally looked to Dr. Anthony Fauci—the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, an esteemed laboratory immunologist and one of President Donald Trump's chosen COVID advisers. Unfortunately, Dr. Fauci got major epidemiology and public health questions wrong. Reality and scientific studies have now caught up with him.

Here are the key issues:

Natural immunity. By pushing vaccine mandates, Dr. Fauci ignores naturally acquired immunity among the COVID-recovered, of which there are more than 45 million in the United States. Mounting evidence indicates that natural immunity is stronger and longer lasting than vaccine-induced immunity…

Protecting the elderly. While anyone can get infected, there is more than a thousand-fold difference in mortality risk between the old and the young…

School closures. Schools are major transmission points for influenza, but not for COVID. While children do get infected, their risk for COVID death is minuscule, lower than their already low risk of dying from the flu.”

Half the country wants Fauci to resign

The Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard writes, “Nearly half the nation believes that COVID-19 czar Anthony Fauci lied about funding virus testing in China, and almost as many want him dumped from the post he’s held for 37 years.

In the latest Rasmussen Reports survey, 49% said he has not told the truth about U.S. funding for “gain-of-function” research.

When asked if he should be forced to resign as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, 46% said yes and 40% said no.

The survey followed the recent release of a memo suggesting the United States supported and funded virus testing in China, where it is believed COVID-19 started or was developed.”

Fire Fauci

Newsmax reports, “Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., says President Joe Biden should fire Dr. Anthony Fauci 'just for lack of judgment, if nothing else.'

"He's probably never going to admit that he lied," Paul told 'Axios on HBO,' in reference to Fauci's denial that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded of gain of function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

'He's gonna continue to dissemble, and try to work around the truth, and massage the truth."

Take Fauci's lying more seriously

The Washington Examiner’s Christopher Tremoglie writes, “Almost a week has passed since the National Institutes of Health revealed its role in funding viral gain-of-function research in Wuhan. This admission showed that Dr. Anthony Fauci was not truthful when he denied the research was going on.

Sen. Rand Paul said for weeks that Fauci’s credibility was suspect. He was vilified in the media for it…

On Oct. 20, the truth came out. The Department of Health and Human Services sent a letter stating the U.S. nongovernmental group EcoHealth Alliance violated the terms and conditions of NIH grant AI110964. Richard Ebright tweeted this information, and he also declared that this shows that Fauci, along with NIH Director Francis Collins, made untruthful assertions…

'I told you so’ doesn’t even begin to cover it here,' Paul tweeted on Oct. 20. The senator has been leading the charge on this issue for quite some time now, and the liberal media declared him persona non grata for doing so. Yet, in the end when all the truth and facts came out, Paul was right."

Fauci should be fired for 'massaging the truth' about gain-of-function research funding

Fox News reports, “Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., said in an interview that aired Sunday night that Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top disease specialist in the U.S., should be fired after last week’s revelation that the National Institutes of Health funded gain-of-function research on the coronavirus…

'He [Fauci] should be fired,' Paul said. He continued, 'just for lack of judgment if nothing else.'

Paul said that Fauci, the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, will likely never admit that he lied.

'He’s going to continue to disassemble and try to work around the truth and massage the truth,' he said.”

Making college tax deductible would help a lot of families

Forbes reports, “Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) plans to introduce new legislation in Congress — the Tax Free Education Act — next week. This new bill would: make education expenses 100% deductible; enable students to deduct the cost of their education from their income tax; include student loans as 'education expenses'; apply to all colleges and technical schools; and apply to the cost of K-12 education.

‘Making college tax deductible, I think, would help a lot of families,’ Paul told WDRB in Kentucky. ‘A lot of families are struggling. College tuition has doubled over the last decade. Loan payments are going up. I meet people in their 30s still trying to pay back their loans.”
