During the House Oversight Committee’s hearing on Wednesday over Twitter's alleged censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story and expert COVID information, Republican Rep. Nancy Mace had a pointed question for the platform's former Chief Legal Officer.
“Did the U.S. government ever contact you or anyone at Twitter to moderate certain tweets? Yes or no?” Mace asked Vijaya Gadde.
"We have a program," Gadde began.
Mace interjected, "yes or no?" She again asked the question, "Did the U.S. government ever contact you or anyone at Twitter to moderate certain tweets? Yes or no?”

Independent journalist Matt Taibbi was the first among a number of reporters to present the Twitter Files, which Twitter owner Elon Musk made available to selected press members.
