President Joe Biden said in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday of Russian President Vladimir Putin, "For God's sake this man cannot remain in power."
The White House immediately tried to walk back the president's remarks, claiming he did not mean regime change.
But is too late?
Many seem to think so.
The White House walk back of @POTUS regime change call is unlikely to wash. Putin will see it as confirmation of what he’s believed all along. Bad lapse in discipline that runs risk of extending the scope and duration of the war. — Richard N. Haass (@RichardHaass) March 26, 2022

President Biden calling for regime change in Russia, then the White House ludicrously saying that’s not what we all heard him just say, is an incredibly dangerous mistake which Putin will ruthlessly exploit. — Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) March 26, 2022

"For god's sake this man can not remain in power!" After denying NATO enlargement has anything to do with destabilizing Russia, Biden closes his Poland address with a stentorian demand for regime change in Moscow. So this happened TWICE ⬇️ White House had to clarify that… Biden didn’t intend to suggest that U.S. troops would be going to Ukraine Biden didn’t intend to suggest regime change in Russia My gosh. Can’t afford these kind of mistakes! — Kayleigh McEnany (@kayleighmcenany) March 26, 2022
So this happened TWICE ⬇️
Yesterday, Biden said American troops have been fighting in Ukraine & more are headed to fight there. Today, Biden said the goal of U.S. policy to Russia is regime change. Recall, the media called for the 25th amendment when Trump sipped water or walked down ramps carefully. — Max Abrahms (@MaxAbrahms) March 26, 2022

Biden called for regime change in Russia. No matter how much the White House will try to [once again] walk his words back, the tape doesn’t lie. This is one of the most dangerous things a President has uttered when confronting another nuclear power. He + his advisors are unfit. — Murray 🇺🇸 (@Rothbard1776) March 26, 2022
