Russell Brand gets censored by YouTube, the comedian begins new show at Rumble

Fox News reported on Wednesday, “Comedian and commentator Russell Brand called out YouTube Tuesday for punishing individuals for getting COVID facts wrong, when he feels ‘there’s mainstream media misinformation up all the time.”

“We have been officially censored by YouTube,’ Brand declared in a video he shared on Twitter. ‘They took down one of our videos for misinformation, but why are big media organizations not censored for misinformation in the same way? Is it because YouTube are part of the mainstream media now?”

The report continued, “Brand made a case that while he apologized for getting information wrong in a past video, news corporations like MSNBC are permitted to spread misinformation without apparent consequence.

‘We made an error, in my opinion a relatively small error, and we’re being penalized! For me that looks like censorship, and the reason I think it looks like censorship is because there’s mainstream media misinformation up all the time,’ he said.”

Independent journalist Glenn Greenwald has been hired by Rumble to attract high profile influencers like Brand and has commented on the platform’s significant growth.

Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, a doctor, was the victim of this information suppression in August, when YouTube suspended him after claiming he posted misleading videos about wearing masks. Despite backing up his claims with research, YouTube insisted he was wrong and his message was a danger to society.

Except now, the science has vindicated Sen. Paul.”

ABC News reported, ‘YouTube has suspended Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky from uploading content for one week after he posted a video claiming most masks are ineffective in combatting COVID-19…’

But it turns out, according to the CDC itself, that Sen. Paul was right all along about cloth masks being relatively ineffective.

The New York Times reported on Saturday, ‘The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday clarified its stance on various kinds of masks, acknowledging that the cloth masks frequently worn by Americans do not offer as much protection as surgical masks or respirators.”

However, in reality, it was only deemed such because the administrators at YouTube disagreed with what Paul was saying. Because of this censorship, Paul has decided to leave the platform “unless it is to criticize the platform or announce that viewers can see his content on Rumble.com.” This is an admirable step by Paul, and other politicians should follow suit…

This is a vital step in combating Big Tech’s assault on the news. YouTube’s removal of Paul’s videos in the past is an example of this encroachment. The company previously removed some of his videos criticizing the efficacy of wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. YouTube categorized the video as misinformation despite Paul showing scientific data supporting his claim.”

“Every year, people resolve to do things that are better for their health — quitting alcohol, processed food, toxic relationships. I have come to the realization that my relationship with YouTube is dysfunctional.

Sure, I can get millions of views. But why should I allow anonymous “fact-checkers” to censor my fully sourced, fact-based content? They don’t want to challenge or debate me with opposing views, they just want my silence.

Everyone complains about Big Tech. The Left says Big Tech doesn’t censor enough. The right complains that Big Tech censors too much already.

Monolithic social media companies have tried to determine what the truth is concerning COVID-19 and what constitutes proper health policy for a year and a half. My YouTube channel was censored for a week for questioning the government’s mask guidelines, expressing a viewpoint that even Dr. Anthony Fauci once expressed as well.

This is dangerous. Big Tech should not be able to control our public discourse.
