The Daily Signal reports, “Sen. Rand Paul sharply criticized the ‘politicized’ FBI and the Department of Justice, calling for more whistleblowers to expose government trampling of American liberties.

‘I think anytime someone is breaking the law in government, it’s a good idea to hear about it,’ the Kentucky Republican said in a Thursday interview with The Daily Signal. ‘And so, frankly, yes, I think it is a good idea for people to reveal when the government’s breaking the rules.’

Paul’s remarks follow news that the head of the FBI’s Criminal and Counterterrorism divisions reportedly ordered agents Oct. 20 to identify threats against school board members and teachers with a ‘threat tag’—although Attorney General Merrick Garland told lawmakers the next day that the FBI was not using counterintelligence tools to target parents…

‘This should worry all of us,’ Paul told The Daily Signal. ‘My father [former Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas] warned about this 20 years ago. He said when they passed the Patriot Act and when they began going after terrorists, he said, ‘Beware that they’ll use these same devices, these same powers, [this] same ability to snoop on our lives, that they’ll use it on Americans,’ and sure enough, they’re using it on disgruntled parents.”

Responsible Statecraft’s Kelley Beaucar Vlahos writes, “Rand Paul’s office told RS today that the Republican senator is readying a joint resolution of disapproval to stop the Biden Administration’s expected sale of $650 million worth of ‘defensive’ air-to-air missiles or AMRAAMs, as well as 596 missile launches to Saudi Arabia, as announced on Nov. 4.

‘A message needs to be sent to Saudi Arabia that we don’t approve of their war in Yemen,’ Paul said in a statement to Responsible Statecraft.

The news was also confirmed in an Intercept report this afternoon in which Paul said he aims to file a privileged motion to stop the export, which would guarantee an immediate floor vote on whether to disapprove the sale. That vote could occur within the next two weeks, according to the Intercept’s Sara Sirota.

Interestingly, the article centered around Paul’s interest in generating support from his Democratic colleagues, particularly those who have typically been on the same page when it comes to U.S. arms sales to Saudi Arabia and its Gulf state neighbor, UAE. But as the report suggests, Biden’s fellow Dems aren’t hopping on the bandwagon right away, at least not yet.

Sen. Bernie Sanders did not show outright skepticism. He told the Intercept that he has yet to see the details, but he’s ‘not unsympathetic’ to what Paul is trying to do.”

The Daily Caller reports, “White House press secretary Jen Psaki downplayed allegations Monday that President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden broke city mask mandates when they were seen on video appearing to walk maskless through a restaurant.

Fox News’ Senior White House Correspondent Peter Doocy questioned Psaki about the maskless outing Monday.

‘There is a mask requirement inside D.C. restaurants yet President Biden and the first lady were not wearing masks while walking around a D.C. restaurant on Saturday, why?’ Doocy asked.

‘I think what you’re referring to is a photo of them walking out of a restaurant after they had eaten, masks in hand, where they had not yet put them back on yet,’ Psaki said.

‘Of course, there are moments when all don’t put masks back on as quickly as we should but I don’t think we should lose the forest through the trees here, in that our objective here is to get more people vaccinated, make sure that schools and companies around the country can put in place requirements to save more lives and keep people safer and not overly focus on moments in time that don’t reflect overarching policy,’ Psaki continued.

Doocy then pressed Psaki further on video that appears to show the first couple walking through the restaurant maskless while fully masked secret service agents follow.

‘I think I just addressed it, Peter,’ Psaki said, dismissing any further questions about the topic from Doocy.”

The New York Times reported, “A New York Times investigation of video evidence, along with interviews with more than a dozen of the driver’s co-workers and family members in Kabul, raises doubts about the U.S. version of events, including whether explosives were present in the vehicle, whether the driver had a connection to ISIS, and whether there was a second explosion after the missile struck the car.

Military officials said they did not know the identity of the car’s driver when the drone fired, but deemed him suspicious because of how they interpreted his activities that day, saying that he possibly visited an ISIS safe house and, at one point, loaded what they thought could be explosives into the car.

Times reporting has identified the driver as Zemari Ahmadi, a longtime worker for a U.S. aid group. The evidence suggests that his travels that day actually involved transporting colleagues to and from work…

While the U.S. military said the drone strike might have killed three civilians, Times reporting shows that it killed 10, including seven children, in a dense residential block.”

But what was really odd was that Twitter featured this message six or seven straight days in a row. Even more strange was the fact that whenever I’d click on the link, I’d fail to see anything that resembled a legal precedent for the president’s recent order.

Buried on page 168 of the House Democrats’ 2,465-page mega bill is a tenfold increase in fines for employers that ‘willfully,’ ‘repeatedly,’ or even seriously violate a section of labor law that deals with hazards, death, or serious physical harm to their employees.

The increased fines on employers could run as high as $70,000 for serious infractions, and $700,000 for willful or repeated violations—almost three-quarters of a million dollars for each fine. If enacted into law, vax enforcement could bankrupt non-compliant companies even more quickly than the $14,000 OSHA fine anticipated under Biden’s announced mandate.”
