Republicans in the House and Senate, such as Rand Paul, Thomas Massie, Matt Gaetz, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar and others have aggressively stood against the promotion of endless war in the halls of Congress. This includes advocating for the withdrawal of troops overseas and in Middle East countries such as Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as voting to repeal the 2002 Authorization of Use of Military Force.

Paul argued that the United States should not act as the world police or burn taxpayer money feeding the military-industrial complex for the sake of establishing an international stranglehold on reputation abroad.

Most Republicans at that time looked at the position as heresy, seeing as the GOP continuously defended former President George W. Bush’s Iraq War efforts for nearly a decade.

However, the tide indeed turned when former President Donald Trump started to advocate for similar positions on the Iraq War and endless war in general during the 2016 Republican presidential primary debates.”

‘I would venture to say that thousands of people die in our country every month now from COVID because [Fauci’s] deemphasized the idea that there are therapeutics,’ Paul, who is also a physician, said in an interview on the Ron Paul Liberty Report published Monday.

Paul explained that Fauci has a long history of a ‘bias’ toward vaccines, stretching back to his work on AIDS.

‘I think Fauci is of the philosophy that vaccines are incredibly successful and are the way to go versus therapeutics, for example. So with regard to AIDS, he was involved as the AIDS epidemic came up, he wanted to develop a vaccine,’ he continued in the interview with his father, former Texas Rep. Ron Paul.

‘There’s nothing wrong with that. He wanted to develop a vaccine. Vaccines can be great for polio or smallpox or wonderful. It didn’t actually work for AIDS.’

Paul has previously said that monoclonal antibodies ‘are one of the most promising treatments for the virus’ after a person has been infected, but that misinformation on the antibody treatment plagues ‘government bureaucrats.”

As private companies, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook have the right to decide what content they choose to allow on their platform. (Although the government has no right to intimidate these companies into censoring, as it evidently does.) That said, many see the cultural values of viewpoint diversity and the free exchange of ideas as the cornerstones of a tolerant society and classical liberalism.”

Ron Paul tweeted on Thursday:

Very shocked that @YouTube has completely removed the Channel of my Ron Paul Institute: no warning, no strikes, no evidence. Only explanation was “severe or repeated violations of our community guidelines.” Channel is rarely used. The appeal was automatically rejected. Help? pic.twitter.com/CuvGAe1bVf

After many, many negative reactions toward this action by YouTube on social media, the channel was reinstated.

But why did it happen in the first place? How often does it happen?

And would you have got your channel back so quickly – if at all – if you were not Ron Paul?

We should have used Ron Paul’s idea to go after al-Qaeda instead of fighting a dumb war

Former Republican Congressman Ron Paul voted for the U.S. to go after the Taliban after 9/11 because that group was harboring al-Qaeda, who had attacked the U.S. After that mission was accomplished fairly quickly, Paul spent the next twenty years wondering why America was still in an unwinnable war with no clear mission in a faraway land.

But Ron Paul also had another idea after 9/11. Titled the “September 11 Marque and Reprisal Act of 2001,” Rep. Paul introduced a bill that would give congressional authority to hire private individuals or entities “to seize outside the geographic boundaries of the United States and its territories the person and property of Osama bin Laden, of any al Qaeda co-conspirator, and of any conspirator with Osama bin Laden and al Qaeda who are responsible for the air piratical aggressions and depredations perpetrated upon the United States of America on September 11, 2001.”

It got no traction. Paul was mocked for it. Politico called it “wacky.”

After 9/11, @RonPaul advised targeted pursuit of Bin Laden & Al Qaeda through the issuance of letters of Marque and Reprisal, a constitutional power granted to Congress but rarely used.

— Eric Brakey (@SenatorBrakey) August 27, 2021

You know what’s wacky? Spending trillions of dollars and sacrificing so many lives to fight a war that has left the U.S. and Afghanistan worse off than before. What is wacky is trying to punish the Taliban but instead rewarding them with full control of their country again and billions in U.S. weapons to maintain their power.

For 20 years. THAT’s wacky.

No, instead we could have sent special forces or private contractors to hunt down specific members of al-Qaeda and brought them to justice for far less money and suffering. As Ron Paul said of the Afghanistan war ending according to The Hill’s Eric Brakey, “How could the US war machine and all its allied profiteers make their billions if we didn’t put on a massive war?”

We should have listened to Ron Paul. Just put that last sentence on repeat for most things.
