Fox News reports, “U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., shared his reaction on Friday night’s edition of ‘The Ingraham Angle’ to a New York Times report earlier in the day that a recent U.S. military drone strike in Afghanistan resulted in deaths of innocent civilians, including children – contradicting an earlier account from the Biden administration.

‘If it’s true, it’s another sad instance of just the most incompetent withdrawal we’ve ever seen in our history,’ Paul said.

‘But, yeah, we’ll await the facts as they come forward. … In the end, if we made a mistake in it, that’ll be one more disastrous fact after another.’

‘I hope it’s not true. If it is true, that’s devastating,” Paul said.

Lexington, Kentucky’s NBC affiliate Lex18 reported Thursday comments that I made about the tragic attack on Americans in Kabul.

Paul says America must focus on getting Americans out of Afghanistan, and destroying all equipment that is being left behind.

“We should destroy as much equipment on the way out,’ said Paul.”

If more people had listened to Ron Paul years ago, the tragedy in Afghanistan might not have been prolonged.

In his column today, Dr. Paul notes that “Kabul has fallen – but don’t blame Biden.”

Paul writes, “This weekend the US experienced another ‘Saigon moment,’ this time in Afghanistan. After a 20 year war that drained trillions from Americans’ pockets, the capital of Afghanistan fell without a fight. The corrupt Potemkin regime that the US had been propping up for two decades and the Afghan military that we had spent billions training just melted away.

The rush is on now to find somebody to blame for the chaos in Afghanistan. Many of the ‘experts’ doing the finger-pointing are the ones most to blame. Politicians and pundits who played cheerleader for this war for two decades are now rushing to blame President Biden for finally getting the US out. Where were they when succeeding presidents continued to add troops and expand the mission in Afghanistan?

The US war on Afghanistan was not lost yesterday in Kabul. It was lost the moment it shifted from a limited mission to apprehend those who planned the attack on 9/11 to an exercise in regime change and nation-building…

So who is to blame for the scenes from Afghanistan this weekend? There is plenty to go around.”
